The dining room is about 11' x 14' and has a built in china cabinet. All of the molding on the wall doesn't exactly fit the contemporary look and feel that we're going for in the rest of the house, so we're going to be taking it down. The concern is that it would destroy the plaster beneath it, but a few test pieces have shown that it is just held on by some finish nails. Removing it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I don't really have any "during" pictures, since the dining room is where we are storing all of our boxed-up cabinetry at the moment.
The floors in here are a beautiful Douglas Fir hardwood which will be refinished.
We're adding a new light fixture and removing the old chandelier.
