Teched 2004 San Diego

I was going to add all my blogs about TechEd to this site, but after the first couple of notes I took, I decided to leave them on my personal blog instead and just link to them.

Anyways, San Diego is a really cool town for those of you who have never been here. Apparently the areas by the Convention Center are in the process of a little Urban Renewal. Petco Park, home of Baseball’s San Diego Padres, was recently built here, along with about 5 or six huge hotels and a multitude of luxury condos.

These new buildings are awesome. Each one has a different look than the next and some of the designs are really beautiful. I guess you can do that when you don’t have to worry about carrying the load of 8 feet of snow and/or have a ton of places to build new things instead of updating old ones. I wish I had a camera, you really have to see some of these buildings, and there are 3 or 4 new ones going up right now.

Interspersed with the many restaurants, boutiques and bars are remnants of the Old San Diego. There are 3 porn shops including the Huster Outlet Store and a few crappy boarding houses and pawn shops. They definitely stick out like a sore thumb. Anyways, a cool city to walk around in.
